A Cross+Generational Journey Through Christ’s Life-Giving Sacrifice

Faith Inkubators Lent 2026 invites all ages to come together for six powerful weeks of reflection, discovery, and connection. Rooted in Revised Common Lectionary Scriptures, each week guides your congregation through the story of Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice—and the life it offers us all.

Whether during worship or midweek gatherings, this resource is designed to engage every generation in meaningful conversation and spiritual growth.

FAITH5 at the Core

At the heart of this Lenten journey is FAITH5, a simple five-step practice that draws us closer to one another and to God:

STEP 1: SHARE your highs and lows

STEP 2: READ a Bible verse or story

STEP 3: TALK about how the Bible reading might relate to your highs and lows

STEP 4: PRAY for one another’s highs and lows

STEP 5: BLESS one another

Each week, Small Group Time at church is shaped by the FAITH5 model—then extended into the home with FAITH5 Home Huddles. This powerful rhythm helps families and individuals live out their faith “Every Week at Church and Every Night in Every Home.”

The Unexpected Teacher (Focus for Weeks 1 & 2)

Focus: Nicodemus came to Jesus looking for some straight answers about Jesus’ mission. Jesus tried to tell Nicodemus about a spiritual connection between God and his people. The spiritual interconnection happens when one is reborn as a spiritual being. John 3:16 is the best known verse in the Bible and clearly states why God put Jesus on earth.

Objective: To involve and invite all ages to become actively engaged in the Scripture so that they may understand and experience Jesus Christ as God’s only Son and history’s best instructor in the will and ways of God.

The Unexpected Healer (Focus for Weeks 3 & 4)

Focus: A Samaritan woman unexpectedly meets Jesus at the well. He knew she needed the water of life. He healed her. A man is born blind. Jesus healed him. The community unable to accept the healing, shunned the man. Jesus encouraged the man, “Believe in me.” The man did. True healing took place. Unexpected healings to unexpected people in unexpected places. A healing that lasts an eternity. Healing takes place when we believe in Jesus. What unexpected healing has Jesus brought about in your life?

Objective: To involve and invite all ages to become actively engaged in the Scripture so that they may understand and experience Jesus Christ as the source of God’s healing power for all who believe in him.

The Unexpected Savior (Focus on Weeks 5 & 6)

Focus: Imagine the confusion of the sisters, the disciples and the crowd when Jesus called out, “Lazarus, come out!” Imagine the fear and amazement when the man that they had believed dead appeared at the entrance. The word unexpected can’t begin to cover the event at the tomb. What kind of man was this who could not only heal and cast out demons, but also raise people from the dead? Was Jesus indeed the Messiah?

Objective: To involve and invite all ages to become actively engaged in the Scripture so that they may understand and experience Jesus Christ as the promised Savior; the one who calls them out of death into life.
